Tongan Fellowship

HistorySa'ili Peaua

On August 16, 1992, Rev. Bob Olmstead, and Sione Motu'ahala (Representative for the Tongan Fellowship of Reno) agreed to combine worship services. Eighteen Tongan families joined Reno First and started what is now known as the First United Methodist Church of Reno Tongan Fellowship.

Our Walk Together

The two different congregations merge to become one on the last Sunday of every month. Holy Communion and songs (English and Tongan) are heard throughout the church. During the other Sundays of the month, we worship in the evenings so that the non-English speaking islanders can also benefit from the Word of God.

Sa'ili Peaua has been chosen by the congregation to become the Lay Leader. Pastor Auer joins the Tongan Fellowship the first Sunday of the month to celebrate Communion.

The congregation has a total of twenty-six families.
